Auspicious dates for moving to new house/office in 2013

Here is the list of auspicious dates for moving to new house/office in year 2013, which is produced based on the Chinese almanac Tong Shu. (Click the image to enlarge)


Bear in mind that although the Tong Shu is a compilation of Chinese astrology and calendaring studies gathering wisdom of thousands of years, we should use it wisely and rationally, but not be too superstitious on it.

    Hi Voyager8, First of all, thank you for this entry! :-) really appreciate this. Second, i need a favour to check the timing and "ritual", what one needs to do, to "symbolise" moving in... besides sleeping overnight there :-) We (Goat - 1979 and Rooster - 1969) moving into a new apartment on the 20th of July 2013 (Saturday), which time is auspicious and time as in the local time at where the person is living? :-) We are in Europe :-p

    The ritual depends on the culture, tradition, religion, etc.

    For traditional Chinese, it starts by hanging a piece of red cloth on top of the main door of the house. Then, start a fire in a red charcoal stove and bring it into the house. Then, bring in your God. Then, bring the foods (rice, salt, sugar, cooking oil, vinegar and soy sauce) into the kitchen. Use the red charcoal stove to boil water and let everybody drink it.

    Originated from ancient China more than 2500 years ago, Ching Ming is indeed the day which is suitable to start farming, as the weather become warm again, rain starts to increase, and the plants start to regrown from winter.

    Ching Ming is the day of transition from Ying (阴) back to Yang (阳), which brings more "clear" and "brightness" to earth.

    It is best to start and end within the auspicious timeframe, but the start and end timeframe need not be continuous.

    Example, can start at 9am and end at 2pm.

    "Moving" mean you will stay at the house that night. Not necessary for all furniture to move in at the same day, but nothing to move out of the house.

    It is a tradition to use salt and rice to "clean up the house" before moving. Immerse in water and spray the water at all the corners.
