Auspicious dates for renovation in 2010

Here is the list of auspicious dates for renovation in year 2010, which is produced based on the Chinese almanac Tong Shu.

Bear in mind that although the Tong Shu is a compilation of Chinese astrology and calendaring studies gathering wisdom of thousands of years, we should use it wisely and rationally, but not be too superstitious on it.

If you are going to renovate your house, don't forget to visit the "home idea" section of my blog to find out some of my sharing there.

  2. Dear Voyager,

My partner and i are born on the years of the Snake and Rat.
We are planning on renovating a new house in Jan/Feb, and starting the contract in 1st March.
This new house will be a place of work (we have started a small studio) and also a place of living.

I tried looking at the calendar of auspicious dates, though i am not quite sure i understand how this works. please help us, as we plan to start renovations, moving into the house, and also launching a party for our new studio.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much,

  3. Hi linhlan,

For renovation, select a date from the table above.

For moving in, select a date from auspicious dates for moving to new house/office in 2010

For party, select a date from auspicious dates for house warming, open house, party, gathering, etc. in 2010

  4. hi hi

we have bought a new plc and estimate that we can start renovation on 24 jul (1 of the auspicious date listed above). The renovation work will take at least 6 wks.

We are concern that the reno work will stretch through the month of hungry ghost, is this inauspicious and should this be avoided?

    Would appreciate your advice.

    Thanks
    AY

  5. Hi AY,

It depends on whether you're concerned with that particular period or not.

Some people are concerned, and it is better to avoid. Some people are not concerned, so they carry out the renovation without much worry.

The Tong Shu does not taken into consideration whether there is ghost or not, so it won't classify that period as inauspicious.
