Bear in mind that although the Tong Shu is a compilation of Chinese astrology and calendaring studies gathering wisdom of thousands of years, we should use it wisely and rationally, but not be too superstitious on it.

Haha... inauspicious proposal date means if someone tries to propose on that day, chance of failure is higher.
Inauspicious day for a particular zodiac sign means, for anything you do on that day, it might not be as smooth as usual.

Tong Shu is observed based on the Sun position (as a result of Earth revolution orbit) and other stars (planets) position, as observed in the sky of middle China (the ancient China, which not yet include areas like Xin Jiang, Tibet, etc).
When it reaches the US time, the position of all the planets already shifted, and the astrological sky might not be the same.

hi, my fiance and i are thinking of getting married next year, preferably second half of the year. he's born in the year of dog, while i am born in the year of sheep. 3/12/17 looks good, however it clashes with one of his friend's wedding, thus we are avoiding it. we're unable to accomodate to those auspicious dates from sept- nov as my sister is studying in overseas. would be a hassle to make her fly home. thus we're intending to hold it during my sister's holidays.
